Beginners & New Members

New Members Day Out - Saturday 14th August 2010

Join fellow new members on a day out in Ely, with more experienced photographers on hand to offer guidance and assistance if required.

Car sharing to reduce costs. A nominal charge of £6 per person to cover petrol for those driving.

Itinerary:

10.00am Meet at Ship Lane Car Park / Green in front of The Malting (See Page 5 of Ely Map Attached)

1.00pm Meet on the Cathedral green for a picnic lunch

4.00pm Meet on the river bank by the Maltings

We have 3 main areas to explore:

1. Riverside area with canal boats & leisure craft

2. Cathedral & surrounding area

3. Ely River Walk - a circular walk from the City centre which takes approximately an hour and a half through a Wildlife Trust reserve giving spectacular views of the Cathedral Roswell Pits together with wildlife such as Great Crested Grebe, Kingfisher, Marsh Harrier & Bittern (Although I cannot guarantee you will catch sight of them)

The day will be less structured than last time, breaking into small groups to explore the City. For those wanting more exercise and wildlife then there is the Riverside & Roswell Pits walk.

Follow up meeting A follow up get together will be arranged at a later date to view photographs, prints or digital, discuss the day, take on feedback and suggestions for future days out.
