George Farthing Trophy

Entry Rules

The trophy is awarded to the winner of a competition for the best landscape or seascape image.

Rules:

  1.  TWO images may be entered per entrant, each of which may be a slide or a digital image.
  2.   Images should not be more then two years old, not been used as part of an entry in the Steeds Cup and not been accepted in an IDPS exhibition.

Each image must have a title.

  1.  Slide entries – Each slide should be marked with the entrants name at the top, a title at the bottom and a large spot in the bottom left hand corner with the slide viewed correctly.
  2.  Digital entries –

a. Digital images should be supplied in JPEG format on a CD. Each disc should be clearly labelled with the entrant’s name(s).

b. Images will be projected at an image size of 1400 x 1050 pixels and it is therefore recommended that images be entered at or within those dimensions.

c. On the CD, the images should be in a folder called George Farthing.

d. The name of each image file in the folder, should be constructed from Entrant’s Name + Title    e.g  Joe Bloggs  Dales Landscape.

e. All constituent parts of a digitally manipulated image must be the sole work of  the entrant.

  1. Unless the entrant instructs otherwise the images may be retained on the Society’s laptop computer or stored elsewhere for a period of up to two years for use in a possible “Best Image of the Year” competition or for entry into Digital competitions.
